About America Has a Heart
America Has a Heart is a movement born from the passion to protect our youth and ensure every athlete has a chance to thrive. Our mission is to provide ECG devices, training, and support to organizations, enabling them to screen young athletes’ hearts and foster a culture of cardiac awareness and preparedness.
High school sports are an important part of sports culture in the U.S.
About 6 million high schoolers participated in school sports during the 2022-23 school year. Boys’ sports saw a larger participation increase of 3.5% in this period, compared with a 2.4% jump in girls’ sports.
